Mexico 2003

On the same day, we headed further north to enjoy an afternoon at the Gulf of Mexico in Rio Lagartos ...

 

... and stayed overnight in San Felipe.

The very next day we climbed the pyramids of Chichén Itzá

 

This leguane enjoyed the warm sun on top of   Kukullkán pyramid below.

                                           

 

For your interest... the guy on the left side is Kukulkán.

El Caracol (above) is one of the very rare round buildings of the Maya's and used as an observatory.

                       

The Chaak above is the god responsible for everything related to rain and water.
